The Butterfly Loom is made from poplar, a light semi-hardwood. I leave the finish natural. If you would like to stain it, the entire loom can be easily disassembled and each part individually stained.

The detail image shows the "thread snag." This small feature saves lots of time and frustration because you never have to tie the warp thread off. Simply loop one end around the thread snag and it holds itself in place. Warp the loom using this single continuous thread, then loop the finished end to another thread snag. There is one at each corner of the loom.
